WAR IN BRAZIL.

New York, December 1, A REPORT is current here that President Piexoto, of Brazil, has been assassinated, but the report lacks confirmation; The insurgents have been successful in a two days' engagement in Rio Negro, General Isadora, and 1000 troops were canfcured and 2000 killed.
Eio de Janeiro, December 2. The reported assasination of President Piexoto is denied.
