It is estimate! ? tkt fully 25,000 people were present. Mr Gladstone, who walked with the Prinecof Wales and his pnrly, wis hooted the whole round, and the scene created a painful 'impression. Among thoso.present'wcre the Duke of York, the) Princess May, the Duchess of Teck, the Prince and Prim cess Christian, the Duke and Duchess of Connauglit,'the Duke and Duchess of Fife, Prince and Princess Henry of Battenbe'rg, the members of the House of Lords and the House of Commons, also tbe ; leading members of the labour societies. Tho'Dub of York. Princess May, and the. Marquis of Salisbury met with a groat ovation. Mr Smith, the Victorian representative, presented each of -the Royalties with a catalogue printed on white satin, with gold letters. His daughter . presented the Duchess of Teck with a bouquet of flower?. The Prince of Wales expressed him> self highly'-gratified at the various Colonial Courts, and addressed a 'few remarks to the Agents-General and the officials at the Courts.
