At the country sales held at l'okeno ami Drurv respectively, st >re cattle were yarded in excess of usual numbers ; above 700 sold, bidding was dull, crown cattle scarcely held late values, and young cattle were lower in price from "is to 7s (Jrl each, well-bred young quiet cows, forward in calf, were in request at full values, prices ranged from £1 to f(i 10s each, and prices for- fat cattle were equal to those ruling at li-muera. At the Komueia Yards on Thursday, dairy cows in moderate supply were at late values; those near calving brought from f.S 2s lid to £8 each ; store cut'.le, in excess ot usual number, kept their values, particularly grown cows and steers, hut young cattle were lower in price. Fat cattle in average number—23o sold : last week's values were fully kept. Trices ranged fi i 21s to 2S-. per lOOlbs. Eat calves, shirt of requirements, were better worth. Sheep, in moderate number, lISO sold, were also better worth.
