THE CAMBRIDGE HORSE PARADE

The parade of entire horses at Cambridge, yesterday, did credit to the district, In the tliorougbred cl iss especially, it wa< a long way ahead of last yen-'s show, as the names and breeding of the horses in the subjoined list wi'.l testify. In this class, " Gipsy King "' had certiiniy tho must admirers .iwiiig to his si/.f , and symmetry, which eminently fits him for giUtng istylish hunters <ind hacks. To those breeding thoroughbreds requiring ;v particular strain of blood, Tetford or Riglan would probably be selected, the favoured Musket strain in tho former combined with his "gentle manly " appearance would certainly full in his favour. Muskapeer and St. Patrick both on the stout .-.ide, weic equally well spoken of, both theso siivs having proved in the sale-yards the value of their stock. Mr McNicol's Cleveland bay, Mountaineer, is of a bieed and class of horse little known in Waik.ito, bat no doubt he will be p.itrnnisrd by owners desirous of breeding clean logged quick slipping horses. We must compliment Mr Dinsdale upon the splendid condition this horse was brought out in. In the roadster class thero were but two entiin* Mr D.tlgleish's Balderdash and .Mr Iverr's Merry boy. The latter by Merrylcgs. is a perfect reproduction of the old horse in shape and colour, but unfortunately he is wanting in size. He is quite as stoutly built as the old horse and has just the same style, of going and all that can be said against him is his lackofsi/.e. Balderdash is well known. In the draught class thero were only three exhibits, rather a falling off to what it was two or three years ago. General Fleming is a much improved horse, since he was Inst shown, and it would be difficult to find a fault with him. Duke of Albany, as a type of the pure Clydesdale, wuuW be hard in beat in the'colony, and as ho cbiins such a highclass parentage, he is sura to be sought after by breeders of high - class stock. Mr C. Lake's Lor.-: Gla-gow is a big upstanding colt, and in consequence of his youth, and noi having yet furnished, scarcely showed to advantage alongside such uncommonly good competitors as General Fleming and Duke of Albany. The following is a list of the entries :— •riionouonnuEiis. Mr J. McXicofs Gipsy King, by Lβ L'ltip—Gitana. Mr J. McNieol's C.ip-a-pie, by Manbyrnong—Miss Magus. Mr J.
