A Tory sandidate's daughter in the north has been prosecutina: a most vigorous CAiivnss in the interests of her father. A po-.r -woman in town bad a member of her family suffering from a recent accident. She went to the Tory candidate's house to beg a hospital ticket. Not being acquainted with the conventional methods of besrginsr at great folks' houses, she went to the front door. After making her message known to the servant, she -wuited some considerable time. At length the girl returned, saying that Mis* would see her if she went round ''.o tho back door Thero the young lady, while graciously triving her the ticket, told her she should never"come to the front door to be-tr. A day or two afterwards tho same, young lady knocked at a drwir in a certain street, and with one of her most winning smiles solicited the vote and interest of the occupant for her father. The woman wh" en in" to the door was the same who hti.l uppli.vl for the hospital K"ket nt the Tory candidate's front door. " Well, mi-s,' she said, " we never serve begirurs at tho front door, but if you go round to the back I'll a-k my hush iiiii to see you,'
