Rkcklkss Bkkaviour.— Proceedings are being taken by the police against Messrs Warbrick, M ixwell, and Browne, the latter a tourist, for amusing themselves by discharging a loaded gun in the public thoroughfare a few days ago. The party tried conclusions at shooting by firing at an empty bottle placed on the opposite side of the main road near Lake House.

Improvements.— The addition of fourteen rooms to Bithgata House has commenced. This is satisfactory evidence of the continued improvement of the district as a sanatorium. During the first few seasons the demand for accommodation at Bathgate House has been in excess of that available. This is the second occasion that the enterprising proprietT(Mr Brent) has found it neceesary to enlarge his premises, which with the present additions will make 48 rooms altogether besides enhancing the appearance of tho building, which has been constructed of one story in the interest nf who have to visit the baths and cannot comfortably climb stairs.

Wkktchkd Roads.—The slato of the Oxf'ird Rotorua bush road is deplorable. The waggoners and coach drivers have a sore time of it ploughing through with goods and passongers respectively.
