Hunter's special horse sale at Cambridge last Thursday, a large number of horses were yarded. Buyers were present from all parts of the Waikato, Te Aroha, Tauranga, Rotorna. and Auckland. Good draughts, broken and unbroken, were keenly competed for and in many cases considerably exceeded vendor's reserve; good hacks and light harness horses were also in good deniand, Tho sale commenced at 11 a.m. on Thursday and was continued till dark ; it was continued again next morning, the horses selling equally as well as the previous day. At Waiuku, on Saturday, the monthly sale was a large one. Store cattle, particularly grown stoers, sold _ freely. Several pens brought from £4 to £5 ;>s each; two to three-year-old steers, £3 8s to £3 13s; yearlings, 30s to 43s ; calve*, 20s to 22s ; oniet cows, £3 to £4 each. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle, unless of choice quality, wtre dull of sale. For good cows at profit, prices ranged from £4 10s to £0 15s. Store cattle sokLuregnlarly, and were at lower valuos. Fat calves in less than average number, 41 sold, wcre_better worth. Fat cattle in full supply, 250 sold, were firm. Prices for steers were from 24* to 20s per IOOIbs. Store sheep at lust week's values ; but fab sheep were better worth 2s each. Fat barren ewes were from 12s to 18s (id ; wethers up to lils each ; ewes and lambs, 12s the couple; store hoggets, 9s each. Pigs, in full supply were required, and sold higher than hitherto.
