Hash of Hopk. —The members of this Society desire the public to know generally that they are alive. That they arvery much so was proved by the laige and appreciative audience which congregated in the Wesleyati Church 011 b riday evening, 2nd inst , when the usual monthly meeting was held. Thanks to the indefatigable efforts of Mr S. Holloway, an interesting and varied programme was put in to the haud.s of the President (Rev. \V. is ceitaiuly the right man in 'the light puiCG. Now tor the programme : Übe chairman's n marks were short and sweet, and given in his usual happy style ; recitation, Master \V. Holloway ; solo. Mis? Ida \ anse ; recitation, Master Alec Miller ; solo, Miss Dora Frastr ; recitation, Miss Adele Ahier. These were quite youthful performers, and all deserved a 4< well done T The Rev. J. McDonald (Vice-President) gave a very interesting address, the closing sentences containing good advice to the young fellows who sometimes stand about the cloor instead of takinc a seat like reasonable beings. Mr T.~Howaid ga\ c a reading which was evidently appreciated, also Mr Ripley : and, last but not least, the dialogue "Darning a Cob web,''' was spiritedly given by Miss Ellis and Miss A. Thompson. After a rendering by the choir, "Hark! There a Whisper,' and the inevitable collection, which was a good one, the meeting closed with the benediction, pronounci'd by the Rev. J. MacdonaU-1, and thn people wended their homeward way, the majoiity undoubtedlv satisfied that the last two hour* had been well spent.
