WORK AND WAGES.

Steamship owners do not only intend to rutinie seamen's wages, bur. efforts are being made to reduce overtime rates paid to wharf labourers. It is understood tbat the Steamship Owners Association has resolved to reduce wages £1 per month, and th;it similar resolutions have been adopted by the Vietorian and South Australian Associations. A manifesto has been issued to seamen, urging' them to insist on the maintenance of nxistinar rates.
At a meeting of Broken Hill strikers speeches of a revolutionary character were made. There appears to be growing dissension among the men.
