THOROUGHBRED STALLION RAGLANDark Brown Compact Horse, 15 hands I 3 inches high, 7 years old. RAGLAN was sired by Cap-a-pie, whose cross-country stock are favourably known. Tenambra, the dam of Raglan, was a highly-bred mare, aod ran five seconds in Auckland after being imported from England. She was sired by that i grand horse The Marquis, and two of the races he won were the classic English Two Thousand Guineas and the St. Leger. When on the turf Raglan proved himself a thorough honest borse and first-class stayer, able to last to the end of a Cup race, carrying weight and defeating the best horses in Auckland. In sprint races he showed his pace by beating performers like Teksum (who won races against the best horses in Australia), Cissy, and others. As it will be seen, Raglan is a suitable horse to breed from to get racehorses and fast cross-country stock ; and if put to roomy active mares, to get weightcarrying hacks and active harness horses.
