FOOTBALL.
The following will represent Paterangi against Whawhakia in the match be played at Hamilton, on Saturday, July 23rdFull-back, W. Gable ; threequarters—C. ICusab, S. Reid, and Marshall ; halves—A. Kusab, and F. Bowden ; forwards—J. Ryburn, Aubin, Macky, Berry, Scott, Hodgson, Walker, Kusab, and Cruickshank. Emergencies—Ryburn and Livingstone. TO THE EDITOR. Stk,—l notice in your issue of Saturday last, that your Alexandra correspondent, while jubilating over the defeat of the perfidious Hamiltonian footballers at Patqk rangi, considers it resectable that one member of the defeated team so far fnrgot himself as to strike the captain of tha local team. I, sir, think it equally regretable that your correspondent so far forgot himself as to state a deliberate untruth. I say deliberate as I am unable to make any allowance for jubilation that would prompt anyone to make so unfounded a statement in print a week after the match. I would recommend your correspondent to make more certain of the accuracy of his statements in reference to a body of young men who, whatever their faults may be in other respects, have never before been accused of rowdyism in the field. —I am, etc. One Who SAW the Match.
