PROPOSED TAXATION.
(by kleotbio telegraph—copyright.) London, January 11. Mr W. B. Perceval, Agent-Genural for New Zealand, in a letter to the Times, ably expounds and defends New Zealand taxation. He denies that the taxation of foreign capital has increased except in instances where money has been invested in large areas of unimproved land. Later.
Mr W. B. Perceval, in his letter to the Times, traverses the statement in an article published by that paper on November 9, and denies that it is the intention of the New Zealand Government to make loan companies or banks conducting legitimate business pay more than formerly.
