Loxdox, September 14TiiEUE is stagnation in the London clocks in consequence of the A ustralian strike, and hundreds of stevedores and clerks are unemployed, only six ships are loading where there are usually fifty. The slackness of trade, exhaustion of funds, and the necessity to assist Australia, are given as the reasons which compelled the London dockers to repudiate the Southampton strike. Captain O'Shea has summoned Mr Dillon as witness in his divorce action. The reason for this step is believed to be to prevent him from visiting America. A monster parade on behalf of the Australian strikers took place at West Haiti to-day. The sum of .£52 was collected. The Belgian workinon'sconference has approved of a general strike in all trades.
September 16. R.M.S. I'uapeha arrived at Plymouth yesterday, with her meat in good condition. The Times expresses a hopo that the splendid mining collection at the Crystal Palace will form a nucleus of a permanent exhibition. Bkklin, September 13Sixteen soldiers, who displayed Socialistic tendencies at Oldenburg, have been arrested, and it is feared that a mutiny will take place among the troops there in consequence. Zanzibar, September 15. Germany has proclaimed free sale and purchase in slaves in Biigomayo, export by sea alone being prohibited. Ottawa, September 18. News from Montreal states that Prince George of Walos, who is in command of H.M.s. Thrush, on the Canadian station, and two of his companion?, were set upon by six men, who demauded money from them. A H»ht ensued, in which the assailants got the worst of it. The police were appealed to, and the Prince arrested, but ultimately was identified and set at liberty,
