Mn M.vxx has postponed the interview which was to have been held today with representatives of the shipping companies connected with the Australian trade. The sentence on Allen, one of the Egorin mutineers, has been reduced to two year's imprisonment, and that he bo dismissed the service. The other sentences have not boon altered. The Imperial Treasury is prepared to subsidise the direct mail service to New Zealand, but no basis of agree* ment will be suggested pending the return of Mr Goschon and the settlement of the San Francisco mail contract. Thetjtal amount of money remitted to Australia so far is under £6500. Only Unions have subscribed.
