Mlt Joseph Newman, the Auckland sharebroker was walking down Queen-street when a strong gust of wind caught one of the sign-boards erected on the railway grounds, just on the edge of the street, and it was blown from its supports into the street and struck Mr Newman on thn back and side of the face, knocking hiu" down on his face, with the board on t f him. No bones were broken, but Mr Newman complained of great pain in his back am! sides, but his ribs are all right.
