HUTCHISON CHARGES

Thk writ proposed to be served on Mr Hutchison sets out that portion of the speech containing the charges, and asserts that the expressions " Administration' '•Government," "Executive." and "Ministry," mean the Executive Council of New Zealand, excepting the Governor. It also asserts that the remarks made in the speech in reference to the Attorney-General, mean to attribute to Sir I<\ Whitaker, corruptness in the management of the public affairs, and that he was moved thereto by considerations for the Hank of New Zealand. and alleging further that he had benefited by the Bank, at tho expense of the colony. The damages claimed are t'3ooo. _ The writ under which Sir Frederick Whitaker claims £3000 from MrG. Hutchison, as damages for alleged slander, was issued from the Supreme Court, to-day.
