SAVAGE ATTACK ON A WOMAN AT NGARUAWAHIA.

A Mrs Canty, wife of a carter in Ngaruawahia, was brought up by train yesterday by Constable White, fm admission into the Waikato Hospital, suffering from a severe scalp wound, inflicted by another woman named Fit/.patrick, in a quarrel which occurred yesterday morning. On arrival at the hospital Dr. Kenny attended to the injury, which is fortunately not of a very serious character, although the loss of blood was considerable. Dr. Kenny expects to bo able ti discharge the patient in tho course of a day or two. On his return to Ngaruawahia it was Constable White's intention to arrest the woman Fiupatrick on a charge of maliciously wounding, so that we aro likely to hear more about this squabble.
