A MEETING. A star in the quiet sky ; A gleam on the water's breast Whore the silver ripples die In perfect rest. A fragrance of roses ahed Abroad on the windless air, Where the level cloud-lies sped Silent and fair. A boat that with rhythmic oars l'nrts the reluctant deep; The sound of a voice that soars Whore the clouds sleep. A figure upon the shore, Where the old pier stretches far, And the liEfhthon.se shineth o'er The harbour-bar.
