Tenders for laying pipes nud deepening outfall on the Alexaudra-Te Awanmtu read are called for by the Waipa County Council. At the usual weekly sale at the Hamilton Auction Mart, to-day, a ton of oaten chaff, horsa carrots, furniture, produce, poultry, etc., will bo offered. To-day Mr W. J. Hunter will hold sales of furniture, produce, horses, etc., at Te Awamutu ; on Saturday uext his monthly Cambridge cattle, horse and produce salo ; and the following Tuesday his next Ohaupo live stock sale. Mr N, li. Cox, of London House, Hamilton, has an advertisement in this issue, drawing attention to the large general stock of drapery, clothing, etc., held by him. Mr Cox has found the cash system of trading, which he has introduced into his business, to be a great relief to himself and to be much appreciated by his customers. The latter arc beginning to recognise the advantages they reap from doing business on cash terms and the better value Mr Cox is enabled to give through having no provision to make for bad debts and disnensing with book-keeping, has secured for him a largely increased aitppctt-
