« MS HEMES DISPUTE. (BV ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.— COI'YWGHT.) St Johns, May 27. An address, couched in violent terms, has been drawn up for transmission to the Queen, May 28. A British warship has closed tha British lobster factory in St. George's Bay. Sixteen thousand colonial fishermen on the " French Shore" have petitioned Her Majesty the Queen on the matter. u _ Paris, May 28. The French officials anticipate an easy settlement of the .Newfoundland fishery dispute. May 2D. M. Ribot, Minister of Foreign Affairs, doubts the truth of the statement that French warships had landed a party of Marines at St. George's Bay, Newfoundland, in order to force British fishermen to romove their nets. The Minister appears to be desirous of entering into diplomatic negotiations, with the view of an amicable settlement of the difficulty.
