The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Mkssus A. Buckland and Son's Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket during the past week fodder was better worth, and ranged from Is 6d to 2s Gd the cwt ; oats, Is lid to 2s 2d ; maize, 3s 6d ; wheat, 3s ; rye grass, 5a (id ; cocksfoot, Gs Gd the bushel. At the Haymarket Bale on Friday horses were entered in moderate number only; prices were firm ; heavy draught, £13 and £10 ; medium draught, £6 to £11 10s ; spring cart, £10 ; harness, £4 ; horse, cart, and harness, £8. On Tuesday hides were pitched in unusually large numbers; heavy hides ranged up to 4Ad, but light hides were low, varying from lfd to 2Jd ; calfskins, 3d to 4.Jd the lb ; tallow, IGa Gd to 18s Od tha ewt; rough fat, the lb ; bones, £4 10s the tons ; skins and pelts, from Od to 2s 9d lambskins, Is to 2s 8d each ; ti jd to 74d the lb. At the monthly cattle sale at Papakura on Wednesday there was a better supply of cattle than usual. For good dairy cows there was an improved demand ; other cattle at late values. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle were scarcely in as much request as last week. l<'at cattle, in less than usual number, advanced in price about Is the 1001b ; steers were steady at l(is ; cows, 10s to 12s the 1001b ; fat calves, in full number, kept their values, those from Waikato brought from 18s to 35s each. Sheep were also in demand, and advanced about Is each ; wethers brought from Hi to 15s ; ewes, 7s to 10s Gd ; lambs, 9s to 13s each. Pigs, numerous mostly porkers from GOlb to 70lb; they brought from lGs to 17s each. Horses: The supply has been rather limited, but a good detnaud has existed for light harness and medium draught horses at prices showing an upward tendency in value. There was but a moderate muster at the Durham Yards on Friday ; competition was steady throughout the sale, and with scarcely an exception lots were cleared. Heavy ox hides have not been brought forward in sufficient quantities for requirements, and consequently there remains an unsatisfied demand ; prices ruled relatively higher than other sorts; sheepskins and pelts were in brisk demand. Sheep were fairly represented at the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday, and were keenly competed for. Wethers, at from lis 3d to 14s 3d ; ewes, 7s 01 to 10s; mixed sexes, As 3d to lis.
