All received up to Thursday night were cleared for export at late values ; but the supply on Friday was very heavy, and prices offered at auction were lower, consequently all were passed, as no serious decline is expected. Onions have been in good demand. Largo quantity to hand. Butter, fresh, has somewhat improved in price, and, owing to tho very hot weather, supplies were shorter. For corned butter there is no sale. Eggs of good quality have sold well. Bacon is very slow of sale, but hams sell freely. Cheese quiet, and prices falling. Inferior quality is again coming in, which greatly affects the price of good makes. Fruit has been in greatly improved demand. The supply has been larger and prices all round butter. Plums : In shorter supply. Apples : Increased supply ; prices considerably higher, Pears in Rood supply. Peaches: L irger quantities to hand ; sound kinds sold high. Few gooseberries to hand ; rise in price. Cherries are done: those at Tuesday's sale sold better, none to hand on Friday.
