After declaring that the friendship between England and Turkey had not lessened, he stated that the day before the bombardment of Alexandria by the British fleet e urged upon Musurus Pasha, th„ Turkish Ambassador, that tlu tiui:; wo-", opportune for the occupation cf Egypt by Turkey. The Sultan, however, refused to adopt the suggestion.
