Road Boarij Meeting. — The usual monthly meeting of the Board took placa on the Ist inst. Present: Messrs W. P. Chepmell (in the chair) H. Burnett, J. Horrell and J. Turnbull. There was a good deal of routine business, the most important item for the ratepayers of the district to hear in these h;ird times being the decision come to as to what the rate for the current year is to be. As the Board s debt under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act has been converted into a loan under the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act there will be :i saving of over £100 per annum, which coupled with tho credit balance in the bank decided tho Board nom, con, to make the rate a farthing in the pound, which will yield about £30S. Accounts amounting to £43 5s 10d were piweod for payment.
