CRICKET. Cambridge v. Hamilton.
Cambridge were unfortunately unable to bring down more than six men for the return match on Sydney Square last Saturday, but yet made a good fight of it in the first innings, scoring 22 to their opponents 23. In the second innings the visitors wore all out for 1(5. while Hamilton had 19 with one wicket down. Longbottom was very deadly for Cambridge, taking sit wickets for five runs, and a>> three of these were in successive balls, he wins a new hat. Barton mads the only stand for Hamilton, going in first and carrying his bat for seven runs. Longbottom put together 11 in good style in the second inuings of Cambridge. Young Fred Gaudin made an excellent catch. After the match it was arranged to play the annual county match at Hamilton on Saturday, the 27th inst. The following will piobably represent Watkato : — Messrs Browning, liygrave, Cuuuuiiy, Fitzgerald, Forrest, Hitcnm&n, Hunt, LongbotfcoiH, Stevens, Verity and Wood. Emergency, Primrose.
