Thk concluding day's racing of the V.R.C. Autumn Meeting took place at Flemington to-day. The weather was bhoweiy dining the early part of the day, but the attendance «'f the public \\a» f.uily good. Tho Champion Stakr-> wa«, of course, the event of the day. Malua, on the strength of his great victory in the Australian Cup, was nude a war.n favourite, the betting being 2 to 1 on him, but he failed to run prominently, the winner turning up in the Auckland-bied colt Matchlock, who carried the colours of the Hon. Jas. White, of New South Wale». This was the first occasion on which a representative of Mr White's stable has won the great weight-for-age race, and there was much cheering when the jockey weighed in.
