Thk concluding day's racing of the V.R.C. Autumn Meeting took place at Flemington to-day. The weather was bhoweiy dining the early part of the day, but the attendance «'f the public \\a» f.uily good. Malua, on the strength of his great victory in the Australian Cup, was nude a war.n favourite, the betting being 2 to 1 on him, but he failed to run prominently, the winner turning up in the Auckland-bied colt Matchlock, who carried the colours of the Hon. Jas. White, of New South Wale». This was the first occasion on which a representative of Mr White's stable has won the great weight-for-age race, and there was much cheering when the jockey weighed in.
