"DOROUGH OF HAMILTON. Annual Election of Licensing Committee.

The undermentioned Candidates have this day been duly nominated, viz. :— William Australia Graham, Robert Pjcat, George Edgecumbe, Fredeeic Gaudin, Charles Tippkn, and the number ot candidates not having exceeded the vacancies to be filled— viz., five— l now therefore declare the above named gentlemen to be DULY ELECTED to office as members of the Licensing Committee for this Borough. I also appoint FRIDAY, the 26th instant, for the FIRST MEETING of the ■aid Committee, to be held for the purpose of electing their Chairman, the appointed time and place being 12 o'clock noon at the Court-house, Hamilton. Notice is> HERKBr givkn, that at a SPECIAL MEETING of the HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL duly convened in accordance with " The Municipal Corporations Act," 1876, and the Amendments thereof, and held at the Council Chambers on the sth February. 188G, the following resolutions were adopted, viz. :— "That in pursuance of the resolution unanimously passed by the burgesses, attha public meeting, held on the 2nd February, 1880, the Council do hereby reHolve by special order to proceed to raise a loan of £0,000 for the undermentioned purposes," viz. :— j 1. "To erect public buildings, to cost about £2,000." 2. "To pay off the overdrafts at the bank of the Borough Fund Account, and to lend to the Domain Board Account and the Cemeteries Trust Account, about £1,000." 3. "To improve the lands about to be handed over by the Government, together with others, about £1,000." 4. " For the further improvements required, which will be decided upon at a future date by the Burgessei, about £2000, and that immediate action be taken to bring this proposal before them in accordance with the " Municipal Corporations Act, 1870," and amendments thereof." That this resolution be now adopted, and a special meeting of the Council be held on FRIDAY, the sth March, 1886, to confirm the sane. Dated at Hamilton, this sth day of February, 1886. J. M. OOROUGH OF HAMILTON. Notice under the " Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and the Amendment thereof. TAKE NOTICE.— That the Council of the Borough of Hamilton in compliance of the above Act hereby publish. 1. That the Council propose to raise a loan of six thousand pounds (£6,000), for the following purposes, viz : — (a) For the erection of Public Buildings. (b) For the improvement of lands about to be handed over by the Government and other lands in the Borough. (c) For paying off the overdraft of the Borough General Account, the Domain Board Account, and the Cemeteries Trust Account (d) For the further improvement of the Borough, which will be decided by the burgesses at a future date. 2. That in order to carry out the^ above proposal the Council has decided to borrow the above amount for a period of fifty years, for the repayment of whioh sum, with current interest, a special rate of ninepence in the £ will be struck and levied, and given as security on all rateable property in the borough ; appropriation buildings, about £2,000; improvement of lands, abou^ £1,000; payment of overdrafts, about £1,000 j further improvements to be decided, £2,000.
