The bodies of Mrs Turubull and two of the youngest children were found yesterday at Rotiuaon's near Bream Hexd. They were taken round iv a boat to Whangarei Heads for the inquest and burial. The vessel is broken up, and the wreckage is strewed along the beach for miles. None of the. vessel's sails or rigging have come ashore. GISBORNE, Sunday. Two extremely severe shocks of earthquake were felt here, the first at 1.30 aud the second at 940 to-day. They were of long duration, and both in the apparent direction of south to north. No damage is reported. WELLINGTON, Sunday. At the races yesterday afternoon four or five "speelers," playing the threecard trick, etc., were arrested and tent into town. It is said that before the police arrived on the course they had fleeced the public of about £150. CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. The Hon. B*. Richardson ipeaka at Rangiora on Tuesday next. DUNEDIN, Monday. A labourer named Thomas Dunn, while > discharging coal from the Wakakip fell into the hold. His spine was found to be injured and there are but slight hopes of his recovery. Alfred Harvey was committed for trial for illegally pawning jewellery whichjho had received to sell on conditions. Fifteen pawn tickets were found on him when arrested. The goods for which be wai committed were valued at £36. An application was made that the pawnbrokers receive compensation for the amount advanced but the bench decided that matter should come before the Supreme Court.

Plaintiffs action was for £35, and he settled it out of court for something under £30. The costs of action before they were taxed in round numbers came to £19.
