EUROPE AND THE SOUTH SEA ISLANDS.
Loxdox, February 3. A protocol has been signed between France and Germany, defining the territory appertaining to each nation on the West Coast ot Africa, and in the South Seas. tinder the terms of the agreement 'Germany engages not to hinder France in the occupation of the New Hebrides Islands.
February 4.^ $ Germany agrees to the French occupation of the Austral Isles, provided recruiting amongst the natives is permitted.
