TERRIBLE EXPLOSION IN PARIS.

A terrible explosion occurred on 'Wednesday morning at the distillers', Joanne and Son, Quai la Tournelle, Paris. Thirty clerks and workmen had just sat down to their day's work, when a boiler, containing 500 quarts of wormwood, burst. The furniture, the doors, the ceiling, and the roof were all shattered, as well as the roofs of the adjacent houses. The broken glass injured several passers-by. An eye-witness says the distillery looked like a huge punch-bowl flame, with clouds of smoke whirling up. All the 30 inmates of the house were either burnt or injured— several dangerously.

COLOXEL BURXABY's MEMORIAL.— A* Birmingham on Wednesday an obelisk in memory of Colonel Burnaby, which is placed in St. Philip's churchyard was unveiled by Lord Charles Beresford.
