Best animals biought from £7 10-, to £') each. Fat cattle also in full supply at opening of sale, sold briskly, but fell in price as the sale proceeded to last week's values. Puces ranged from IGs to 20s, averaging about 18s the 1001b-> for well fatted cattle. Fat sheep in hunted number, and an advance of nb >nt 2s each was obtained over last week's values. A draft of Napier wethers fattened in Waikato brought 10s each. Fat Limbs, also in moderate supply, obtained a slight improvement in value. Pigs wero in limited numbers, but veiy low values.

There was a good mu&tei at the Durham Yards on Friday, also a good Attendance of buyer*, attracted by a shipment fiom the West Coast. The competition was brisker than on the previous week, and at the conclusion of the sale few remained unsold. We quote hacks at from £4 10s to £15 ; light-harness horse". £5 10s to £12; draught horses, £18 to £25. Cattle : There was more animation in the market than on the previous week, and fat stock advanced in value fully 10s per head. The number yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday was below the average in fat and store Stock, but dairy cows were fairly represented. Well-fatted steers advanced in value fully 20s per head, and plainer animals participated in the rise, but scarcely to a corresponding degree. Prices ranged from 18s to 21s per lOOlbs. Sheep : There was a good muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, and prices decreased from Is to 2s each. Lambs were at low values, selling at from 5s 6d to 9s. Pig.s : Very short supply ; there was an upward tendency in value.
