WAIKATO HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. Meeting at Cambridge.

A cenkral meeting of members of the Waikato Horticultural Society was held m the Public Hall, Cainbiidgo, on Monday evening 1 . There was only a bin ill attendance. Mr Thomas Wells, tha Chairman of the meeting, read the adwitHoincut convening it, and explained that the object was t<> elect delegates to represent the local bianch of the boeiety on the C3titral committee There were seventy hi* members, which entitled them to nine lepie^cntativcd. Mt J. Sharp proposed that the following gentlemen be elected delegates and to act as a local committee, \u: — Messrs T. Wells, J. Sharp, T. 13. Lewi-,. H. Cmvper, K. Hewitt, (r. \V. Rus,dl, Y. J. Brooks Major Wilson, and Mr K. W. Dyer. Seconded by Mr J. S. B-md. Mr Rusiell asked what the committee were supposed to do. Thecencial committee had seen tit to delegate to them the power to entirely manage the show for Cambridge. It was not imperative on all the delegates to attend meetings of the central committee at Hamilton, as proxies could be sent. It was very important to horticulturists and orchardUts that good men who would give their attention to the objects of the society he elected. Mr J. P.
