[REUTERS TELMTRAMb.] Brisbane July 3. The Queensland revenue for the last quarter amounts to £079,000— an increase of £2,5,500 as compared with the June quarter last year. Melbourne, July 3. Mr Mirams, in the Le^iblative Council, has decided to mo\e an amendment to the resolutions of the Sydney Conventions, with the object of restraining the proposed Fedorel Council from legislating on colonial tariff questions. The. debate on the resolutions stands further adjourned. All the Australasian Governments, except New Zealand, have replied favourably to the proposal to guarantee £ 15,000 for the expenses attached to the extention of Biitn.li rule in the Pacific The reply of the New South Wales Government, though favourable, was not quite definite. | Received Ith July, 3.13 p.m. Melbourne, July 4. The debate on the resolutions of the Sydney Convention was resumed in the Assembly last evening. The discussion continued till midnight, when Mr Boiuon moved the adjournment. The Govern ment absolutely refused, with the result that the motion was negath ed by 30 to 11. Messrs Gaunson, Graves and others then pursued " stonewalling" tactics, and the House continued sitting till iive this morning, when the Opposition collapsed, and the resolutions were put and earned. Theieisan increasing belief that the disease prevalent here is small-pox, though the medical men arc still unable to decide definitely on the point. Mrßeny, as Postmaster-General has ordered the detention of letters addressed to advertisers of sweeps on the Melbourne Cup wlio&e advertisements as published are from Dunedin.
