THE CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION.

TO THK KDITOR. Sir.— ln reply to " Carlos," he seems to be entirely in a fog as to what he is writing about. In the hist place it was at; the request of many shareholders that the meeting was called to alter the law in reference to each share having a vote, and at that meeting it was unanimously resolved that there should be one vote for any number up to five shares, and no one could have over a certain number ; then, between this meeting and the next one called to confirm the resolution, a revulsion of feeling came, and it was decided at the shareholders' extraordinary meeting that the voting power should remain as at first, viz : one for every share. Why the directors should be blamed for these fluctuations in -the minds of the shareholders, I for pne cannot understand. Again, if ( ' Carlos " had read in The Waikato Times, the clause re flour mill as proposed by Mr Forrest and carried, he would find that there is no intention whatever of sinking any capital in such an undertaking. As regards the Clark and Gane business, "Carlos" has not only not got the whole truth, but he is very far, wide of it ; th& association has neither taken over the old stock or liabilities of that firm. The directors have only agreed to take what pan be sold by the association, and that at first cost price. Messrs Clark and Gane must dispose of what remains as best they can ; the association will have nothing to do with' it. Can "Carlos" tell me what particular' 'kind of Latin ; constitutes school bpy Latin ? Of cbiirse, as he does not Understand, he condemns.
