EXTRAORDINARY CROP OF POTATOES.

The Wai pa flats liave long been noted for their gre.it feitility and for producing veiy heavy crops of grain, grass and loot crops ; and Mr George Little's farm has been referied to befoie, in these columns for heavy yields of potatoes. This year the ciop of potatoes has for exceeded anything; v>e have licaid of in the country, for no less than 30 tons of potatoes have been taken out of a small paddock 70 yaidb by S3 yaids, or a little less than 1\ acies, equal to 24 tons to the acre. Mr Little informs us that anyone doubting the fact can see the land and the crop, as none of the potatoes have yet been sold. The paddock which has yielded this extraordinary ciop has been under glass for seveial yeais, the two previous seasons to this heavy crops of hay have been cut and .sold off it. Only one sack of bone flour was used, and that only on a portion of the land ; the remainder had no manure of any kind. The sod turned undei and a subsequent deep ploughing befoie the planting of the seed was all the preparation this land got. Mr Little used whole potatoes for seed, and each loot turned out from 30 to 40 of big potatoes ; and out of the whole crop only 15 sacks of potatoes too Miiall for market weie picked.
