AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.

Mr Ali'ued Bucklvnh's Weekly Report.—At tho Haymarket on Friday, April 18, fodder ranged from 2s Od to 5a per cwt., but the greater part between 3s 6d and .4s. Horse stock were yaided in full nuni1 bers, and there was a numerous attendance. Good farm mares brought from £16 to £20 each ; inferior stock at all prices. At tho ' private s*le held at Messrs A. ah\J J. Andersons on Saturday last, there was a numerous attendance. Tho farm implements sold freely. Sheep, taking their quality into account, sold at low values. Dairy stock were eagerly competed for: Best cows ranged at from £10 to £12 10», and the horse stock, which were numerous, sold satisfactorily, good farm horses ranging from £20 to £23 105. At tho Haymavket on Tuesday, there wa-> <i full muster of hides ;pi ices for the best quality ranged from 3d to 3jd ; fat and tallow, from 2"5s to 27& per cwt. ; skins, from 7d to 2s 7d each : wool, 4W to s id per lb. At ilemucra, on Thursday, dairy cuttle near calving rn.iinta.incd tWir lately improved value. Store cattle were in full number and somewhat better enquiry. Fat cattle in usual number, but alarge proportion of inffdierent quality ; those were at low value, not more than l(ss, but fat cattle of good quality were m demand at 20s to 21s per lOOlbs Sheep were plentiful and lower about Is each ; lambs wcie also dull of sale and lower in pi ice. Calves in moderate numbor and Lite valves Pig*, both fat and stoic, were plentiful and in good demand at full rates. Messrs Huni'i.k avd NorAN's Weekly REronr.— Horses : A veiy laige number have been brought foiward, pwicipally ship borne, but local horses found pin chaser* at advanced rates, and horses of a good stamp were disposed at prices satisfactory to the vendors. At the Dm ham yaid«> on Friday there was a l.v ge muster of both local and ship hordes. For the foimer bidding was in some instances slow, but biisk for tho latter, and with few exceptions lots weic cleared at an advance on lates ruling for for two or thiee weeks previous. On Saturday a special sal? was held at the Durham. Ten first cla<-s Clydesdale mates, shipped by Mi Cavcihill fiom his estate at Hawera, were disposed of in one lot, Mr John Phillips being tho put chaser at £">25. The imported Clydesdale stallion, Star and Gaiter, fiom the same gentleman's stud, was withdrawn at £150. Fifty hoihes, ex Hauraki, from Patea, brought up byMebSis Morton and Chadwick, were of a very supeiior stamp in their class, and excited keen competition, the lesult being veiy satisfactory to shippeis. We quote : Hacks from £5 to £42 10s, and draughts fiom £30 to £10 ; tiap hoises, from £15 to £25. Wool, Hides and Skins ; Supply limited. Inferior moved at 3^d ; hides at from 2^d to 3VI : st<ition skins, Is to Is 5d : tallow. 2lis 0d per cwt. Cattle. There has been a fully supply of fat beasts and but a limited one of dany and stoic stock. Prices fifi butcheis' stock fasomed the pui chaser as compaied with tho pie\ious week but dany and stoic stock maintained their value. The beef and dairy pens at the Ncwinaikot yaids were well filled, and a moderate number of stoics were . y aided. Theie was about the usual muster at Waiuku, on the pievious .Saturday, and stoics sold ielati\ely higher than at New maiket. The value of fat beasts fluctuated considerably, but there was a decline in \ nine of oi per head. No notewoithy alterations in \ allies of other stock. Wcthcis sold at fiom 12s fid to 17s Od ; ewes, 10, to 13-, 0d : lambs, 8s 3d to lls ( Jd. Pigs were y.uded in veiy large numbers. A shipment fiom the Thames of 225. making a large mciease, but all found ready purchaser-, at fiom 2 ld to S\d per lb. live weight.
