At a public meeting held here to consider the scheme of taxation recently announced in Pailiament, resolutions weie -adopted condemning the pioposah of the Colonial Tieasurer. Meetings with the same object are being held thionghout the colony. Dry weather is now generally being expoiienced in the colony. Sydney, February 6. In the Legislative Assembly, to-night, Mr Widsom tendered an apology for the (listin banco which occurred in the Chambei on the Ist inst. On the motion of the Premier, Mr Widsom's apology wag, after some debate, accepted by the House.
