Tasmania v. Otago. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Saturday.
The cricket match, Tasmania v. Otago, was played to-day. The ground was soft after the heavy rain, and it was considered a mistake of the Tasmanian captain, Davies, who won the toss, to go in first. The T i ,manians only succeeded in putting together 40 in their first innings, Burns (11) being the only man who got into double figures. McXeil took sk wickets for 25 run-., and Cooke three for 13 runs. Otago's fir&t innings closed for 65, of which Hams (not out) contributed 41. Kendall took beven wickets at the cost of 24 runs, and Hale three for 14. When btumps were drawn for the day, the Tasmanians, in their second innings, had lost two wickets for 13 runs. Monday. The cricket match, Tasmania v. Otago, was concluded to day. The Ta«inanians, in their second inning, made 47, leaving Otago only 23 to get to win, which they did with the loss of two wickets.
