The annual meeting of householders was held on Monday. The chn.ii man of the outgoing committee, Mr H, Hallett, read the following report : — Rkpokt for the Year ending 31st DeCKMBEK, 1883. Since the election of the committee in ISB3 theie has been a new regulation as regards the auditing of accounts. Pre\ lously the auditor was selected from the residents in the settlements, but now the school board appoint their own auditor. The ledger, bank pass-book, and balance-sheet, have been foi warded to Auckland, duly audited, and l etui ned for the committee*, inspection. The committee have much pleasure in stating that the school has been conducted in a sati&factoi y manner dining the last 12 months, and during that time Miss Fielder has been appointed by the board a*> assistant teacher, and seems to give general satisfaction. Miss Maudeno has just been appointed probationaiy teachei, and having ]Ust commenced her labours, we cannot speak as to her meiits. We would bring under notice that, should the a\ei age attendance increase, there will not be sufficient accomodation. The head teacher suggests the class-room might be enlarged, by having the petitions lemosed fuither into the cloak-room. For public information, we may state that your committee lia\ c f oi warded the names of two candi- I dates as ineinbois of the Board of Education — viz. : Messib Hobbs and Buckland. Your committee will now comply with the Education Act by sending m not later than March next, the names of three gentlemen nominated, who-.e names I piesume will be adseitised or otherwise forwarded to youi committee. We have no furthei remark to make, saving that we hhall be happy to give any information to the new-coming committee, as lays in our power. Trusting our action will meet your approval. — H.
