Thk ordinary monthly meeting of the above body was hold at the council chambers, Cambridge, on Wednesday evening, at 5 o'clock. Pie^ent : Crs. J. P. Campbell (chairman), J. C. Filth, W. T. Firth, W. L. C. Williams, and Chepmell. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, having been slightly amended. Thk Lowkk County Road, Waiorongomai. — The engineer reported on this road, which he stated was in a condition urgently wanting repair. — It was agreed on the motion of Cr. J. C. Firth to spend a sum of £75 on the road, and also that as soon as the money was available it be devoted to that purpose. Baskkc's Road, Waiouongomai.— As no satisfactory arrangement could be arrived at with Mr Basket re the road through his property it was agreed to let the matter drop. Tk Aiioha-Katikati Thick. — A. communication was received from the clerk of the Tauranga County Council, endorsing a resolution passed by that body to the effect that they desired the Piako County Council should take immediate steps for the proper maintenarce of the above track lying within their boundary. St, ujghterhouse at Patetere. — William Harray, Lichfield, having complied with the Act in every particular, it was agreed to grant him a license to slaughter cattle in the above district. The council then went into committee to consider matters of finance.
