n v u- i i Waikdto Times Office, Monday. SYDNEY WOOL MARKET. Messrs Mout and Co. report under date, Sydney, January 15th : — At a much earitef toeriou than usual the wool season of 1883-4 shows unmistakeable signs of drawing towards ft close. There is still on hand ,.a considerable quantity of wool for disposal, f> but Uie arrivals, by r.ul especially, are on a much smaller scale than before the holidays. Tho tone of the market since the opening of the year has boon weaker than before Christmas, and consequently in many cases where wq were prevented by high reserves r.\ from doing business a, month ago, wo find it impossible to obtain a repetition of tho v% > first offer, although now at liberty to accepi it. We cvnnot too oFten call attention to the injurious effect of unattainable limits, especially in view of the present rule of the trade that the same wool cannot be offeied at auction more than twice. Lambs' wool, skiit**, pieces, and locks havo been a good deal neglected by <~f. buyers of late, and are the more difficult to dispose of from their being as a inlo in painr^ eels unsuitable for shipment. On the whole prices are still too high as compared w»th jLoadon rates to allow margin for speculation for resale in the home market, and the \>Yft\l P>5 Vbh \SfiSVW!S.S &\Wto Yi tt\\ YMtfVVtf AR," U6hb.
