♦— A meeting of this body was held at the schoolroom on Wednesday evening la&t, for the purpose of receiving the chairman's report and statement of accounts for the year. Present : Mes&is. C. Tuck (chairman), Howie, Hyatt, Allen and Fitzgerald. The accounts had been audited by the Government auditor, and found correct. The following is the report : — The labours of the committee for the past year have been very light, the management of the school by the teacher in chaigo, and his assistants, being buch as to call for no interference on the part of the committee. The principal Mibject calling for comment is the falling off m the average a-ttondante. This, in the opinion of the committee, is accounted for in a gre.it measure by the extraordinary wet weather that has pie vailed in the district for a considerable tiu.e, and as in a groat many instances, childien attending the school live some distance therefrom, it must of necessity have considerably affected the daily attendance. Between the Ist January, 1883, and the 31st December following, the only change that has occurred in the teaching staff it, the resignation of Mro Hvatt, as sewing teacher, and the subsequent appointment of Miss Bright, who has throughout the year also acted as assistant teacher. The gross receipts for the year, including the balance on hand on the 3Ut December, 1882, amount to £W IDs 3d. The total expenditure ha^ been £lr)l r ) 3s 4d, leaving a balance on hand on 31ht December, 1883, of £4 12s lid.
