GREY MOUTH, Tuesday. The Maoti Creek murder case occupied the Mayistiate's Court to-day and yesterday. Over two dozen witnebses were examined. The evidence was circumstantial mostly, Imt \eiy stiong of its kind. The demeanour of the prisoner throughout was very quiet and unmoved. He pleaded he vsas innocent of the charge, and leserved his defence. He has been committed lor tiial.
DUNRDIN, Tuesday. On the Sumeme Court assembling today, the foieinan announced that the juiy in the minder case weie unable to agiee. They \me then dischaiged. A fresh tiul is fixed for Monday. Ten of the juiy were for a verdict ot murder and two toi manslaughter. It came down to eleven to one at one time.
