The financial position of the Cambridge Domain Board ih of an exceedingly healthy character. The Board, with its present levenue and balance 021 hand we think, will soon be able to undertake the laying off of a .suitable reci cation ground for the public of the town — a want which at piesent is very much experienced. It is to be hoped the Board will pitch upon a suitable site, and one which the expenditure of a few pounds will make attractive.

Travellers to the Hot Lakes District by the new Rotorua road will be glad to learn that Aperhama te Kume, the present host of the Mangaiti accomodationhouse, inteuds to erect an accommodationhouse, about midway between Oxford and Ohinemutu. It is pleasing to notice the spirit of enterprise which in this, as in other matters, is now seizing the minds of the natives. If the manner in which the Mangaiti house is conducted may be taken as a criterion of Mr Te Kumes ability in this particular line, we have no hesitation in recommending his efforts to the favourable consideration of the travelling public.
