RESIDENT MAGISTRATES' COURT, HAMILTON.
Wednesday. — (Before Mr H. W. Northcroft, R.M.) CIVIL CAKES. J. Hakkku v. Ma rmAS. —Claim £1 for reward offeied for the lecoveiy of a dog. The defence was that defendant had had to pay 2-, for taking the r'og over to K.iglan, and that he offered the b.dance, 18s, to plaintiff. The Magistiato held tliat all the plaintiff wab lequned by the adveitisement to do was to take the dog to Johnson's stable. This had been done, and judgment must go foi plaintiff, w ith costs 18s. (laudin v. (.iieshain. — Claim £2 18b C>d for boaid, lodging, and buggy hue. The defence was that the liability had been incieased dunng the time defendant was attending the District Couit conducting a case for defendant. It was usual to chaigo foi expenses, but in making out his bill to plaintift he had not done so. Judgment w.is given for defendant with costs.
