Mr. Bryce's Mission Successful. [FROM OUR SPECIAL REPORTER. ] Te Awamupu, Monday.

Mb Bryce's mission was brought fc i a most successful issue on Saturday, as the following will show. After a rather lengthened private interview with the leading chiefs in the morning, the result of which was that an application was .signed to have the land surveyed and passed through the court, we all assembled, when the proceeding-, weie opaned by John Ormsby, who read to the assembled natives the i Basons for the chief.; signing the application, which weie, in bliort, that they were fully satisfied with Mr Bryce's proposals, and the provisions of the new Land Act. Mr W. H. Grace then read the application which defined the boundaries, which embrace the whole of the King country. The line begins across the Puiuu behind Mr Tole'h farm, goes on to Taupo, down to the Wanganm Rh «r, across to Paraninihi, north of Waitara, from thence to Kawhia, from thence to the mouth of the Puniu River, and back to the starting-point, Waikiria. Thirty leading chiefs lepresenting the Ngatimaniapoto, Ngatiraukawa, Ngatihikairo, and Ngatituwharetoa tribes allowed their names to be inserted in the body of the form, signifying that on behalf of these tribes they weie willing that the survey should be proceeded with, and which will be done without delay. At the foofbf the paper were the names of Rewi, Hithi, Te Pairata, Taonui, and Hopa Te Raugianini. Wahanui affixed his signature after the meeting, not that he had any object for so doing, but he wished to let the natives know publicly that he intended doing so. These five give the authoiity to the Government to proceed with the survey. Mr Bryce then made the following speech: When you appointed a native committee, you doubtless had in view the Native Committees Act. When I return to Auckland I will take steps in this matter. All the court requires, is such a plan as will satisfy them of the locality of the boundaries. I will send a surveyor to survey the b iiindaries, but it Ls necessary to fix trig stations first. I suppose, now this business is finished. I will therefoi c say a few words of compliment and farewell. I entirely approve of the manner in which tins business has been conducted. Theie has been no concealment, there has been a full discussion, and there has not been too much delay. I think this meeting has been most satisfactory, and I hope it will so continue to the end. 1 shall have to bo elsewhere next week, and part of the week following in Auckland. I will then return to Waikato, if possible, and then go into any business with you. I will now bid you farewell, and expies-, my approbation of the manner in which this business has been conducted. The meeting then bioke up. While in Kihikihi, Mr Bryce and pirty stayed at Wilkinson's Star Hotel.
