TE AROHA MINING NEWS.

(Te Aroha News.) Vulcan. — The prospects of this mine are so excellent, and the stone coming to hand of hiich good quality, that the directors decided to have a short tramway of about tluee chains constructed to connect ,the mine with the Fiemier hopper. When this work is finished, a hundred tons will be sent to the battery. Waiokonhomai.— Diiving ib being continued towards the Vermont. The reef, which is .six feet wide, has a horse of mullock at piesent dividing it. The lode on the \\ hole look-, hiirhly promising, the precious metal showing freely throughout tho entile extent of the reef, bright .showy gold being vi.iible in the interstices. Coi.ONi.il'.— The level is being pushed ahead along the mam reef going towards the Canadian boundary. Stoping is proceeding \\ itli a satisfactory .show, the reef avenging ahout five feel wide. 1123^0z. of amalgam is in hand. Eukek v.— This company have the right of ton head at the battery if the Army company do not require to line such. We mention thib through the Eureka being referred to by ono of the Auckland pwpevs as having made no pi oM»ian for crushing, which is a mistake, and having, as is well-known, an unlimited .supply of gold-bearing quartz, it now only remains for the necessary connection to be made with the ti am way to place the company in a position to forward stuff to the mill. The branch line to connect the Eureka with the county tram will be stai ted immediately. Di vmoni) (tUM,y.— Alth ugh the New Find reef runs directly into and though this company's ground, no efforts had been put forth to open out for it until this week, when the manager started on the surface near the boundary line, and after a few days work this fine reef was discovered within a few feet of the surface, to the gieat satisfaction of the local directors, who had ordered the work to be done. In bi caking stone out of the reef the manager obtained precisely similar quartz as is got in the New Find. Not so rich as yet, but tho fact of the first shot bringing down gold bearing quartz of a nice character is \ery encouraging to shareholders. This find gieatly enhances the value of the mine, as it shows the company have an unlimited supply of crushing material, in addition to the leader woiked on for the last two year.-., which has turned out stone which looks more like .specimens than anything else seen on the field, and adds greatly to the evidences in favour of an extensive and permanent run of gold.
