Shefptkim.—Although thn prices for these hare fluctuated somewhat during the month, the market must be quoted firm, and all PnVring; aro rctdilv quitted at satisfactory values, viz :—best, fld to 7d; medium, 4jd to fii<jU' and polts and short-growth, ljjd to 3^d per id. Tallow.—There is a good demand for parcels suitable for shipment, and for trade Jots late rates are'also well maintained. Good lines ofbeeiand mutton arc scarce. We quote beef at from £82 to £33 10s ; mutton, £3* to £35,101; arid mixed, £28 to £31 per' ton. Hides have recently been in short supply, and the demand for bca.vic*;has bepn well'maintained. Wcrquqte pHme heavies' tip to 4Jd ;'heavies, 3}d to 4(1; medium, 3|d to 3|d : light-apd dry, 3jd to 4jd per lb. Grain.—WMcU.—The tfeayy arrivals of breadstuffs fiom the neighbouring colonies and by rail have caused the price of wheat to.recede. In the early part of the month we made heavy sales at up to 5s Bjd per bushel, but we cannot now quote best samples higher than frflra'os tp 5s 3d per bushel.
