Terrible Gunship Accident. London, May 7.
A terrible accident occurred on board the warship Marais, ab Wihelnvshaven. While the Artillery were practising, a shell burst and 26 persons were killed or wounded.
Orient Company. At the half-yearly meeting 1 of the Oriont Company report waa adopted. No dividend was declared, and the directors agreed to forego part of their commission, in order to make up the required sum to be carried to the credit reserve fund.
Alarm at Tunis. The Bey of Tunis, terrifipd at the action or proceedings of the French, and the hostile attitude, of his own people surrender to invader. It is likely that hostilities will cease unless Tunisians show » dispoposition towards further resisistance.
Devastating Floods at Missouri. Heavy, floods ■ Occurted at Missouri. Great destruction caused. Amount of damage estimated at 5,000,000 dollars.
