The following reaolutipn was passed by the committee appointed at a recent meeting to float a ,new newspaper company,: —"That this meeting, in view of the present depressed state, of trade, and the very meagre support' accorded by those loudest in their demand for a new daily paper for Wellington, is of opinon that venture ie premature, and will not justify the outlay necessary .to the proper cany-| ing out of the same, and that Mr Josephj Iv;e.Sß,>be written to that effept." n -\" i
